Who, What, Where, Why?

Picture

The mission of the Goodchildren Social Aid & Pleasure Club is simple: to help revitalize St. Claude Avenue and the surrounding neighborhoods through celebration and cultural preservation.

To that end, we put on parades, community events, work with neighborhood organizations and arts groups, and with our Social Aid partners, St. Margaret's and Kamp Katrina/Busker's Bunkhouse.

Goodchildren (Bons Enfants) was the original name of St. Claude.

How?

We are a grassroots organization, officially designated as a Louisiana non-profit. All funds raised go directly to support and produce the parade in the form of permits, NOPD escorts, insurance, supplies, music, and promotions.

We produce two parades per year, Easter and Fringe Festival, and often have a presence in other neighborhood activities, such as the Mirliton Festival, Anba Dlo, and NOLA Pyrate festivals.

All of our fundraising is done at the grassroots level, with donations and support from neighborhood groups, local businesses, and arts organizations and individuals,
